چکیده

To tailor highly-functionalized gold nanoparticle (GNP) networks, we investigated the GNP network formation with functionalized spacer group via click chemistry. This is based on its high reactivity and mild reaction conditions. The feature of this protocol is the easy approach to versatile GNP functionalization on the basis of the excellent accessibility and good stability of functional dialkyne derivatives. We achieved the successful formation of GNP networks by reacting azide-appended GNPs and various dialkyne derivatives, supported by infrared absorption spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy analyses. These GNP networks readily showed the unique physical properties similar to those of classical GNP networks prepared by ligand exchange reaction of bidentate functional spacers. Typically, the GNP network with the azobenzene unit as a functional spacer (GNP3) showed reversible photoinduced formation of three-dimensional aggregates followed by its isomerization in the network.

Copper-free click chemistry as an emerging tool for the programmed ligation of DNA-functionalised gold nanoparticles.

We demonstrate a new method to program the ligation of single stranded DNA-modified gold nanoparticles using copper-free click chemistry. Gold nanoparticles functionalized with a discrete number of 3'-azide or 5'-alkyne modified oligonucleotides, can be brought together via a splint strand and covalently 'clicked', in a simple one-pot reaction. This new approach to the assembly of gold nanopart...

Synthesis of gold nanoparticles: a new approach in using a nanoporous membrane in conjunction with ultrasonication

Gold nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical reduction of HAuCl4 inside the pores of a polycarbonate-based membrane followed by dissolving the membrane in dichloromethane and further sonication. Sonication time as the main affecting factor on the nanoparticle size was investigated. The characterization by transmission electron microscopy showed the formation of gold nanoparticles with diamet...

Engineering Nano-aggregates: β-Cyclodextrin Facilitates the Thiol-Gold Nanoparticle Self-Assembly

The structure and morphology of nonmaterial formed by colloidal synthesis represent a subject of interest as it is a factor deciding the physicochemical properties and biological applications of nanostructures. Among various nanoparticles, gold can develop fractal assembled patterns. Herein, we report a nano-aggregate of a thiol-on-gold self-assembled structure and the influence of β-cyclodextr...
